Bentley Motors, the ultra-luxury auto manufacturer dedicated to developing and crafting the world’s most desirable high-performance cars, commissioned Bennett Awards to design and produce a new set of custom recognition trophies. These achievement awards were created to recognize employees who participated in an in-house driving program. Individual recognition trophies were given to the winning employees across a number of different driving categories. For these company trophies, Bentley wanted to create a new custom award design that reflected the unique personality and character of Bentley’s distinctive brand. To achieve this objective, Bennett Awards created custom-cut metal trophies that prominently featured the Bentley logo as the “hero” of the award. These trophies employed multiple layers of different laser-cut metals, each with constrasting color and texture, to “expose” the Bentley logo. The main component of these achievement trophies was a thick metal disk, shaped like the circle in the Bentley logo. The “inside” layer of this disk was created out of aluminum, with a brushed aluminum finish. An “outside” layer of steel was then applied to each side of the disk. This outside steel layer featured a black powder-coat finish, and a cut-out in the center in the shape of the Bentley “B”. The cut-out exposed the brushed aluminum of the inner layer, creating a sleek, clean, multi-dimension effect. These custom business awards were mounted via a long metal rod on black, cylinder-shaped marble bases. These bases featured customized, silver-filled engravings with the name of the event (Bentley Driving Program 2012), and the name of each individual award.

A group of Bennett custom recognition awards was selected for use as the 2012 “Latinovator Awards”. The Latinovator Awards are annual achievement awards given out to recognize Latino celebrities, business professionals and other achievers who have become crossover successes or whose stories of achievement are remarkable or inspirational. The 2012 recipients of these prestigious recognition trophies were Emilio Estefan, the 19-time Grammy-winning music producer; Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer; Maria Elena Salinas, Emmy-award winning journalist and Univision anchor; and Nely Galan, the former President of Entertainment for Telemundo, and creator and executive producer of the Fox reality series The Swan. For these achievement awards, Bennett Awards created unique custom trophies made out of crystal. These unique trophies featured a clear crystal obelisk. Inside the obelisk was a floating 3D opaque crystal image in the shape of the Latinovator logo, along with the award tagline. These custom trophies were mounted on black marble bases with personalized engravings of the recipient name and award name. These custom awards were presented to recipients at Hispanicize, an annual event focused on Latino trends and trendsetters in social media, entertainment, marketing and media. The event is a partnership of the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA), Hispanicize, and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Hispanicize 2012 was held April 11-13 at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Miami, Florida.

Bennett Awards recently completed the production of a family of custom trophies for the world’s most prestigious junior golf tournament. The custom recognition trophies were created for the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley, a junior golf tournament that GolfWeek Magazine named the number one event of its kind. This year’s event marked the second year of this annual tournament, which is held at the Sage Valley Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The 2012 tournament featured 54 top junior amateur golfers from around the world, including 26 of the world’s top 30 highest ranked junior golfers. 15 different countries and 18 different states were represented in the field. The tournament featured an opening address by former President George W. Bush. For this year’s event, and all tournaments moving forward, the tournament organizers wanted a new custom trophy that reflected the stature and prestige of the tournament itself. A design firm, Ocozzio Marketing and Design, was contracted to develop a new custom trophy design, which is named the Gibbs Trophy. Bennett Awards was then selected to create the actual custom recognition trophies based on this design. Bennett Awards, with its team of talented sculptors, including Terrie Bennett and Sean Slother, created two custom trophies using this design: a 36” perpetual trophy and an 18” winner’s trophy. The perpetual trophy will be displayed in the Sage Valley Golf Club clubhouse, and plaques will be added to the base each year indicating that year’s champion. Winner’s trophies will be given each year to the tournament champion. In addition, Bennett Awards created custom medallions that will be given to the tournament runner-up each year. Both custom Gibbs Trophies feature three main components. The top component is a sculptured bronze golf ball, which has flat ceramic disk embedded in it with the tournament name and logo. This golf ball has a diameter of 14.5” on the perpetual trophy. The middle component, also cast in bronze, is cylinder-shaped and features sculpted bas-relief images of Bobby Jones, Arnold Palmer, and the tournament’s inaugural champion, Nicholas Reach, receiving the tournament’s winner’s jacket from PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem. These two components are mounted on a hand-crafted walnut base that features alternating layers of light and dark wood. A closer view of these custom trophies can be seen by clicking the following link: “Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Custom Trophies”. The year’s tournament champion (pictured above with both Gibbs Trophies) was Zachary Olsen, 17, of Cordova, Tennessee.

The Regional Qualifying Championships currently include the Viper Gulf Coast Championships at Mardi Gras Race Week, the Viper Atlantic Coast Championships at Charleston Race Week, the Viper Pacific Coast Championships at Whidbey Island Race Week, and the Viper New England Championships at Bacardi Newport Sailing Week.
