Bennett Awards recently completed unique custom awards for the Honda Grand Prix St. Petersburg. This IndyCar race, held April 5, 2009, was the first race of the 2009 IndyCar series. Bennett Awards worked with the organizers of this event to design and develop custom awards based on the race’s logo, which features a palm tree and Indy Car. The design for these custom awards was created by Bennett Awards artist MK Shannon. This unique awards design featured a palm tree and plaque featuring the race’s logo attached to the lower base of the trunk, which was designed to look like a race track. A plaque with the name of the race and finish was attached to the award’s black marble base.

12 custom sculpture awards were created in total, spanning three different sizes: 11”, 10” and 8”. Awards were given to the top 3 finishers (drivers) in the race, along with the car owners. Custom awards based on this same design were also provided to the winners of the IndyCar Lights race.
