Performing in a public venue can be very frightening. Many people simply lack the ability to speak or sing or whatever it may be in a public or private setting.

For those that excel in performing, whether it is one individual or an entire organization, we have created the Performance recognition award. This award is very simple yet there is a lot of meaning behind it.

For an individual who is in the performing arts or a related field, this is a perfect award. The Performance recognition award is like no other. The microphone was an obvious choice being that it is directed to those that perform at some level. The microphone is tilted upwards for a very specific reason. The tilted microphone suggests that the performer–individual or organization–is moving forward with their career. This idea displays that there is a positive outlook in the future.

As we had previously mentioned, performing is difficult, no matter the audience or the size of the stage. Recognize those that are successful and have a bright future in the performing arts industry or any other performance related industry with the Performance recognition award.

Bennett Awards designed and produced a new custom awards design for the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). This custom awards design was created for the HNBA’s Commission Annual Awards, recognition awards that are presented each year to honor Latina pioneering attorneys who have made significant contributions to the legal profession and/or the Latino community.

Bennett Awards created a custom awards designed based on the HNBA’s representative symbol – a blossoming flower forging its way through concrete. This unique awards design features three pewter flowers – two semi-open and one fully blossoming – emerging from a black marble base. The flowers are painted in red and orange. This custom awards design can be seen in more detail by clicking the following link: “Hispanic National Bar Association Custom Awards”.

This custom awards design is an artistic representation of the journey that Latina lawyers of all ages, ethnicities and experience levels must undertake in order to achieve success. Latina lawyers are under-represented in the legal profession, and must overcome a multi-layered ceiling based on the intersection of gender, ethnicity and race. The marble base used in the unique awards design is representative of these barriers, and the flower represents the determination required to succeed.

This was the second annual presentation of this prestigious award. This year’s recognition award was presented to Norma Ramos, Executive Director of the Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, and a long-standing public interest attorney, eco-feminist, and social justice activist. The custom award was presented to Ms. Ramos at the HNBA’s Second Annual Awards Luncheon, held September 9, 2010, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A Bennett recognition award was also used for the first annual awards presentation in 2009, and the recipient of that recognition award was Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
