Bennett Awards recently created a new set of custom awards for the inaugural Molina Literacy Awards. These new custom recognition awards were sponsored by the Molina Foundation to honor outstanding contributions to literacy and early childhood education. These achievement awards are dedicated to the memory of the founders of Molina Healthcare, Dr. David C. Molina and his wife Mary Molina. The Molina’s, who were elementary school teachers before attending medical school and founding Molina Healthcare, believed that early childhood education and literacy had the power to transform the lives of the underprivileged. The Molina’s daughter, Dr. Martha Bernadett, launched the Molina Foundation in 2004 to enhance learning and educational experience through family literacy, math competency, and teaching effectiveness. 2010 marked the inaugural presentation of these customized awards. There were three recipients of these recognition awards: 1) Lynn Hirshfield, Senior Vice President of Publishing for Participant Media. Volunteerism is something that gives our world a humbling feeling. Many volunteer at one point in their life but few have made a career out of it. Theses individuals who have dedicated their life to giving back are individuals who deserve to be recognized and truly honored for what they have done. The Volunteer award does just that. It allows one to be recognized for their dedication and drive to give back to others. Whether they volunteer in their spare time or travel the globe to give back to those who are less fortunate, they should be brought to our attention. There are not many things that are well deserving of such awards but this is certainly a topic that is deserving. This beautifully designed award embraces all of the motivating factors of the individuals who receive the Volunteer award. This award features an individual standing tall raising one arm as if to signify that they are volunteering for the task at hand. Also in the sculpture are open holes which reminds us of the open hearts and minds of those who do volunteer. Volunteering is not easy. People who do volunteer are often those who have a desire to give back; now it is your turn to give back to them–honor their efforts with the Volunteer recognition award.

Seeing one leave after a great tenure can be difficult. Not only can it be difficult for you and the rest of the organization, but it can be painstakingly difficult for the individual leaving. For the individual departing from the organization, they have probably put countless hours of hard work into what they love doing. For whatever the reason may be, it is time for them to move on, for better or for worse. They have spent years of their life dedicating their resources to something that they are passionate about and to the co-workers that they love. The Departure is an award that recognizes individuals who are moving on. It is meant to showcase all that they have contributed to the organization. Its abstract design allows the mind to wander and admire each of the flowing curves as to what the meaning of the award is. Departure shows how the individual is moving on from their past and on to a better future. The many twists and turns symbolize all that they have had to overcome to be where they are at today and will be at tomorrow. Recognize those who have dedicated themselves to something great. Honor them for taking the next step in their journey with the Departure recognition award.

The power of giving is one that can capture the minds of millions. Everyday people are in need of essential items and they go unnoticed. When someone gives everything they have, whether it be time, money, energy, etc., they deserve to be recognized. In a time when giving can be difficult, people have found a way to make it happen. The Giving award is a recognition award that honors those who have shown their desire to give and share their love and kindness with those around them. Organizations and individuals alike can be deserving of this wonderful impressionistic award. With the impressionistic design, you can get a sense of giving as the two symmetrical objects are facing each other. The individuals who are recieving this award are ones that have made a career with their kindness and generosity. Any individual or organization who is a prominent “giver” should be honored and recognized for their charitable deeds with the Giving award. With these gracious individuals, our world is better off both now and in the future.

With a new year upon us, we have many different goals and resolutions that we would like to accomplish. But, for a small population of people, the goals for this year are just a part of their overall vision. These individuals know exactly what direction they are headed in both professionally and personally. For these individuals, we recommend the Vision award. This is an award that was designed for people who have a set direction that they would like to head. They are very goal oriented and have great plans for the future. They not only plan ahead but they inspire those around them to do the same. In doing so, the organization as a whole is better off. The Vision recognition award is one that is awe inspiring. It features a very unique impressionistic figure who appears to be flowing upwards in a fluid, sweeping motion. The figures arms then turns into another smaller figure who has seemingly followed in the footsteps of the larger figure. This symbolism is great for a leader who seems to effortlessly share his vision with his followers. The Vision award is one that should be given to someone who has a clear direction of travel. The award should be given to someone who knows exactly where they are going and how they are going to get there and most importantly, how they are going to get those around them on board with their vision. |
