Africare, the oldest non-profit organizations in the United States working solely in Sub-Saharan Africa, selected a pair of unique Bennett recognition awards for its recent humanitarian awards gala. These achievement trophies were presented to their recipients at the Africare Bishop John T. Walker Memorial Dinner, the largest awards gala for Sub-Saharan Africa in the U.S. This prestigious awards presentation and dinner was held November 9, 2011, in Washington, D.C., and was attended by nearly 1,000 leaders from government, business and international development organizations.

Africare honored former Brazilian President Luiz Inacia Lula da Silva with its Leadership Award in recognition of his countless contributions in trade, investment and diplomatic relations between Brazil and Africa. This unique Bennett recognition trophies design “Global Presence”, created by MK Shannon, was used for this prestigious award.

Africare presented the Africare Corporate Award to former CEO Roger Agnelli of the Vale Corporation of Brazil, the worlds second largest diversified mining company. Agnelli and the Vale Corporation were recognized for their staunch efforts to enhance the health, nourishment, empowerment and employment of the African people. The distinctive Bennett corporate trophies design “Partnership”, created by Tom Bennett, was used for this achievement award.

Both of these recognition trophies were mounted on black marble bases that featured customized gold-filled engraving of the Africare logo, award name, recipient name, and a brief statement of purpose.

For the second consecutive year, Bennett Awards produced a custom recognition award for the Nike International Friendlies, an international soccer tournament sponsored by Nike and the US Soccer Federation. The Nike International Friendlies are a men’s soccer tournament involving Under-17 national teams from four different countries: the USA, Brazil, France and Turkey. This year’s competition was held December 2-6 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The four teams played a round-robin competition, and the USA squad came out on top, defeating Brazil in the final match 3-1 to earn its first title. After winning the competition, the USA team received the Championship Trophy, which is a custom achievement award (shown at left) designed by Bennett Awards.

Last year, Bennett Awards created a new, unique custom recognition awards design specifically for this event. This custom trophies design is based on a stylized cup, and utilizes geometric shapes, bold stylizing, and unique patterns to give it a distinctive, innovative, artistic flair, and distinguish it from other, commonly seen cup-based trophies. The achievement trophy was cast in pewter, with gold and silver plating. The custom award features a raised, curving channel that flows through the design. The main planes of the trophy are gold-plated, while the curving channel is silver-plated. The recognition trophy stands 18” high, and is mounted on a two-tier black marble base. Once side of the base features a customized engraved plate with the Champion’s moniker, while the other side of the base is engraved with the Nike logo and the names of the participating teams. A closer view of this custom trophies design can be seen by clicking the following link: “Nike International Friendlies Custom Awards”.

Bennett Awards recently created a custom corporate awards design for MEI Real Estate Services. MEI, based in Los Angeles, provides leadership in commercial real estate Investment, Brokerage, Management, Financial and Tenant Services. This new custom award was created for the inaugural presentation of the “MEI Award”. These corporate recognition awards are given to a deserving member of the MEI team who have demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and resourcefulness in getting the deal closed and the job done. The 2011 recipient of this corporate achievement award was Dennis Dillon. Dillon was honored for his 16 years of extraordinary service to the firm and to the clients that he has served with diligence and professionalism over the years. In this specific instance, Dillon was given the MEI corporate award for being the lead broker on a recent land sale to In-N-Out Burgers.

Bennett Awards worked closely with MEI management to create a new, unique custom awards design based on MEI’s logo, which features their logotype, along with images of buildings superimposed on a circular shape with horizontal lines. Bennett Awards took this logo and created a new unique, distinctive custom corporate awards design that features 3D reliefs of the MEI logotype and buildings. These custom recognition awards are cast in pewter, and feature a gold-plated finish. The custom awards are mounted on a black marble base that has customized gold-fill engraving with the award honoree’s name and a brief description of the basis of the award. A more detailed view of the custom corporate awards design can be seen by clicking the following link: “MEI Custom Corporate Awards”.
