A set of unique Bennett Awards recognition awards were selected for a recent tribute gala for African American men in the Greater Cincinnati area. This awards tribute – Men of Honor, A Salute to African American Men – was presented by The Abercrumbie Group, along with corporate partners Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, Cincinnati Bell, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati State Technical & Community College, and d.e. Foxx & Associates. These achievement awards provided a unique opportunity for the community to honor the accomplishments of African American men in Greater Cincinnati who have succeeded against all odds and achieved special greatness. The men were celebrated for the body of their professional work and their personal commitment to the Greater Cincinnati community. Five recognition awards were presented to honorees in the award categories of Medicine, Civil Rights, Civic Service, Education, and Business. The unique Bennett recognition awards design “Honor“ was used for these distinguished achievement awards. These recognition trophies were cast in pewter, and featured a gold-plated finish. They were mounted on black marble bases that featured customized engravings for each of the trophy recipients. In addition to the achievement trophies, each honoree was given a grant to designate to an organization of his choice. These grants will be given through the Men of Honor Foundation, which was recently created to formalize this effort to support and advance community organizations that serve young African American males.

Bennett Awards recently created a new set of custom corporate awards for an Audi-sponsored sailing competition. These custom trophies were selected by Audi for the 2011 Audi Cup Sailing Regatta, held September 10-11 off the coast of Dana Point, California. This regatta was sponsored by Audi Mission Viejo, and was part of a larger sailing competition: the Richard Henry Dana Charity Regatta at the Dana Point Yacht Club. 2011 marked the 13th consecutive year for this event. For the last five years, all proceeds from the regatta have benefited the Ocean Institute, an education center located in Dana Point that is nationally known for its hands-on marine science, environmental and ocean education programs. To data, the regatta has raised nearly $235,000 for the center. Bennett Awards created four unique custom corporate awards for this competition. Two of these recognition awards – a perpetual trophy and an individual trophy – were created for the Farr 40 class sailing competition. These awards feature a customized version of the sculpture award “Voyager“, designed by Bennett Awards sculptor Tom Bennett, that was scaled up to 12” tall. The perpetual trophy is mounted on a 10” x 8” x 4” black marble base, and features personalized engraved plates that are attached to the base each year. These customized plates contain the Audi logo, the name and year of the competition, and that year’s winner. The individual trophies are mounted on a 7.5” x 4” round black marble base, and include custom engraved plates with the Audi logo, competition name, and name of the winning boat. The other two achievement awards – also a perpetual trophy and an individual trophy – were produced for the J24 class sailing competition. These trophies are based on an 8” version of Voyager. The perpetual award is mounted on an 8” x 6” x 4” black marble base, while the individual awards are mounted on a 6” x 4” round marble base. These unique recognition trophies feature custom engraved plates similar to the Farr 40 plates described above. Bennett Awards recently created a new, unique custom trophy design, and produced a set of custom trophies based on this design, for PokerStars, operators of the world’s largest poker site. This custom recognition award design was developed for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) tournament, PokerStar’s premier live event, and the largest poker tournament held outside of the USA. The tournament regularly comprises over 40 events, attracts over 5,000 competitors, and awards over $30 million in prize money. Bennett Awards worked with PokerStars to create a custom trophy design that exemplified the stature of this event. The custom award design features a unique, elongated trophy cup design based loosely on the shape of a spade, a key element in poker. The front of the cup is cut lower than the back, revealing a 3D raised image on the back surface that is based on the PokerStars logo – a spade with a star cut out of the middle. The lower section of the cup holds a medallion with a raised image of the PCA logo. Below this logo medallion is a customized plate with the PCA logo and award name. These trophies, which stand approximately 20” tall, are cast in pewter, and feature a combination brushed pewter and silver plated finish. A closer view of this custom recognition awards design can be seen by clicking the following link: “PokerStars PCA Custom Trophies”. Bennett Awards produced four achievement trophies based on this design. The first three recognition trophies were created for the overall winners of the PCA’s three main events: the Main Event Champion, the High Roller Champion, and the Super High Roller Champion. All of these trophies feature an integrated base that is part of the design. The fourth trophy is a perpetual award for the Main Event. This perpetual trophy has an award statue identical to the individual trophies, but is mounted on a 8” high pyramid-shaped black hardwood perpetual base. This base houses custom engraved plates with the name of each year’s Main Event Champion. The 2012 PCA was held January 5-14 at the Atlantis Resort & Casino on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. John Dibella won the PCA’s 2012 flagship event – the Main Event – taking home $1,775,000 in addition to the custom Bennett-design trophy. PokerStars operates PokerStars.com, the world’s most popular poker site. It has attracted more than 49 million registered members across the globe since its launch in 2001.

Bennett Awards just completed the design and production of a new set of custom corporate awards for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. These custom recognition awards were created for the US Chamber’s “Hiring Our Heroes” initiative, which honors private sector organizations for their efforts to find meaningful employment for military veterans and service members, and their spouses. This is the first year that the US Chamber has presented these custom achievement awards. In total, five unique recognition trophies were presented, across a variety of award categories, including overall military hiring, small businesses, women veterans and military spouses, post 9-11 veterans, and “Wounded Warriors”. Recipients of these distinguished recognition awards included PepsiCo, CVS, Union Pacific, API Group, and RecruitMilitary. Bennett Awards worked closely with the US Chamber to create a unique, distinctive custom corporate awards design for this initiative. These custom sculpture awards feature a realistic figure in the shape of combat serviceman on patrol. The sculpture awards are cast in bronze, and feature a golden brown patina. These award statues are mounted on hand-crafted personalized wood bases. Attached to the these bases are engraved plates with customized engravings that include the US Chamber logos, the name and purpose of the corporate award, the recipient name, and the date of presentation. A detailed view of these custom corporate achievement awards can be seen by clicking the following link: “US Chamber ‘Hiring Our Heroes’ Custom Corporate Awards”. |
