Bennett Awards recently completed unique custom awards for the Honda Grand Prix St. Petersburg. This IndyCar race, held April 5, 2009, was the first race of the 2009 IndyCar series. Bennett Awards worked with the organizers of this event to design and develop custom awards based on the race’s logo, which features a palm tree and Indy Car. The design for these custom awards was created by Bennett Awards artist MK Shannon. This unique awards design featured a palm tree and plaque featuring the race’s logo attached to the lower base of the trunk, which was designed to look like a race track. A plaque with the name of the race and finish was attached to the award’s black marble base.

12 custom sculpture awards were created in total, spanning three different sizes: 11”, 10” and 8”. Awards were given to the top 3 finishers (drivers) in the race, along with the car owners. Custom awards based on this same design were also provided to the winners of the IndyCar Lights race. Unique corporate awards from Bennett Awards were selected by the Independent Business Owners Association International (IBOAI) for their 50th anniversary celebration and board meeting.

This event was held at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, and recognized individuals who have been instrumental to the success of the IBOAI, including founding family members and past chairmen. The IBOAI selected a set of Bennett corporate awards for their recognition presentations, including "Success II" and "Soar Above", by Bennett Awards artist MK Shannon.

Unique Bennett Awards were chosen by the United Nations as the recognition awards for the inaugural MDG Awards Ceremony held March 17, 2009 at the U.N. General Assembly Hall in New York City. Award recipients included His Grace Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu and Dr. Kevin Cahill, who both received Lifetime Humanitarian Achievement Awards. Under the guidance of the United Nations, a global taskforce was formed to help galvanize the world in achieving eight Millennium Development Goals by the year 2015. These eight goals include halving extreme poverty, halting the spread of HIV/AIDS, and providing universal primary education.

This awards ceremony recognized the progress that has been achieved at the halfway point of this quest. The Bennett sculpture awards Endurance, Eternal Spirit and Honor were selected as the distinctive, unique awards for this prestigious presentation. The awards ceremony featured a variety of international leaders, humanitarians, and entertainers. Performances were provided by Macy Gray, Akon, Julian and Sean Lennon, K’naan, the National Dance Institute, and David Paich and the Harlem Boys Choir. The event had over 3,000 attendees from across the globe, and was streamed live across the Internet.

World-renowned rap star T.I. received a custom award designed by Bennett Awards to recognize the positive impact of his song “Dead and Gone”. The unique Bennett Award was used for the 2009 “Movement Through Music Award”, presented by PositiveXchange.com, the Center for Neighborhood Enterprise, and the National Violence Free Zone. This award recognizes a song so powerful that it changes the world in a positive way. T.I. and his song “Dead and Gone” were the recipients of this year’s award. The Bennett sculpture award “Harmonize”, by Bennett Awards artist Tom Bennett, was used for this special award presentation.

This unique award was customized by incorporating a crystal globe into the standard design. Additional customization in the recognition award was created by personalizing the award’s black marble. On the front of the award’s base, silver-filled engraving was used to convey the name of the award, details about the artist and song, and the meaning behind the award. The Ford Motor Credit Company recently selected unique awards created by Bennett Awards for their annual Partners in Quality awards program. Ford Motor Credit wanted to present corporate awards to 105 of their dealerships’ credit departments for achieving specific objectives during the year. For the third straight year, Ford Motor Credit selected unique recognition awards from Bennett Awards for this program. Ford chose the bronze sculpture award “Eternal Spirit” for these distinctive corporate awards. Ford also wanted to put their own personal stamp on these awards; in effect, creating custom awards from an existing recognition awards design. Bennett Awards worked with Ford to create a custom marbled green patina finish for each award, highlighted by a high polish finish on the edges of the awards (view the awards via the following link: "Ford Corporate Awards". Ford Motor Credit also customized each corporate award with a personalized engraving that included the name of the award, the name of the dealership, and the dealership location. Finally, Bennett Awards created special note cards that were placed inside each award box that provided additional details about the meaning behind the award design.
